Colonel Ihor Matviychuk, head of the Department of Border Control Organization of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service, gave answers to topical questions regarding border control today during a briefing.

He noted that during the Christmas holidays, approximately 100,000 people cross the border in the western direction. Traditionally, the largest number of travelers falls on the section of the border with Poland - about 65%. The largest passenger traffic passes through the checkpoints "Krakivets", "Sheghini", "Rava-Ruska", and "Grushiv". Ihor Matviychuk added that there is a much lower passenger flow at the Ugryniv, Ustylug and Smilnytsia checkpoints, and that travelers should pay attention to the direction in Zakarpattia Oblast, where it is possible to cross the border much faster.

Separately, we talked about checkpoints, where the movement of trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons is provided - these are "Krakivets", "Sheghini", "Rava-Ruska", "Yagodin".

He noted that the queues here are quite significant, with a long wait, so he also drew attention to the section of the border in Zakarpattia Oblast.

In addition, he said that strikes and, accordingly, some detentions with the passing of trucks are observed on the border with Hungary and Slovakia, but they do not affect the overall passenger flow.

Have the rules for crossing the border changed, how does the "Path" system work, pedestrian crossings, what violations are observed, about interesting cases of detention, crossing the border by volunteers and persons with disabilities, see the video.
